Common questions
How does HalalLens decide halal, doubtful or haram?
We read the ingredient list (from the product database or your photo), check each ingredient and E-number against our additive table, and use AI to explain the result. Verdicts are guidance, not a religious ruling or certification — when in doubt, check with the certifying authority you trust.
A verdict looks wrong. What should I do?
Email us the product name, barcode and a photo of the ingredient list. Labels change and databases have gaps, and your reports help us fix them.
Do you keep my photos?
No. Ingredient and menu photos are sent to our server and AI providers only to read the text, and are not stored. The result (product name, ingredients and verdict) is saved to your history.
I paid but don't have Premium
Make sure you are signed in to the same account you bought with, then tap Restore purchases on the paywall. If it still doesn't work, email us your store receipt.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or from your Google Play order history.
Why does the app ask for my location?
Only for nearby halal restaurants and for prayer times and the Qibla, and only when you use those features. Prayer times are calculated on your device. Your location is never stored.
How do I delete my account?
In the app go to Profile → Delete account, or use the Delete account page on our website. Your scan history is erased immediately.
